General Rules
1. Respect the staff. The staff is always right, do not anger them. If you are sure that they are in the wrong, PM me and I will hear both sides. But do not directly confront them.
This means..
Respect all staff no matter what. If they say something to you that you don't like, or that you feel is wrong, PM an Admin that's not involved in it and they will decide what's what.
The staff must respect the members of the site as well. Staff cannot go around treating people like garbage, or not accepting their work just because they don't like you. If you think this is happening, PM an Admin that is not involved and you will get a reply on it.
2. You MUST roleplay in PAST TENSE! And you MUST roleplay like a story.
Because this is an RP site, you must roleplay like it is a story, which it is. If you have never used past tense before, and need some help training with it, use the battle ground board to hone your skills, so you can become used to using past tense when you use your character.
Wrong example: Anon walks forward and says, "Time for some Ichiraku Ramen."
Right example: Anon walked forward and said, "Time for some Ichiraku Ramen."
3. Respect each other. Please don't make me hand out bans for disrespecting fellow members for no good reasons.
4. No spamming. Don't post just for the sake of posting. This is only acceptable in General Chat or certain games.
5. Try not to double post. If you absolutely have to and you cannot just edit your previous post, then I will allow it. Just try to avoid it in the actual RP.
6. While RPing, your posts must be at least a full paragraph long, or at least three sentences long. We would prefer two paragraphs, but we will settle for one. We will be pretty lenient on this, but you will be warned if you have consistently short posts.
7. Use the best possible spelling and grammar. It annoys me sometimes when people have terrible spelling or grammar, so just spell check and proofread your posts. If your posts start getting too bad, you will be warned. The r u l e s p a s s w o r d on the character application is "The Art of War". If you continue to have bad posts after three warnings, you will be banned for at least one week.
8. No pornography. Of any kind. Ever.
9. Be active. If someone has not made a post, or edited a previous one, for 2 weeks without a good reason, we will send them a warning. If they don't start being active again within another 2 weeks without a good reason, we will delete their account.
10. All official battles must be watched over by a staff member.
11. Mature RPing is allowed, but you must put [MATURE] in the title of the thread.
12. No IC posting until your character is approved.
13. Everything that has happened in the manga until the end of the Itachi vs. Sasuke fight has happened here. After that, disregard anything that happened in the manga.
14. You may not post in a thread (unless it says "Open" in the title) without permission from both the creator of the thread and the 2nd person to post in that thread. The only exception is for a Missing-nin, the leader of the village that the thread is in, or a Hunter-nin that is chasing a Missing-nin from his village who is in that thread. However, please don't abuse this and have a group of 3 Missing nin attack 1 person. An Admin may stop you from killing that person if it does happen.
15. If your character is from a village (say Konoha) and post in another (say Ame) for a fight, shinobi of that village (Ame) don't need your permission to join in as you are behind enemy lines. However, there is still a 4 person limit for that thread.
16. Please don't post in an application thread unless it's yours or you're a staff member.
17. Liquid RP is disabled. That means, you may not be playing a character in two different threads at the same time. You must finish the first thread with your character before entering another one. This, however, does not mean that you can't have one character in one thread and another character in another at the same time.
18. You may not play two characters (NPCs don't count) in the same thread at the same time. So, for example, if you were the RPer for both Naruto and Kakashi, you could not post as both of them in the same thread. The only way it could work is if you post as Naruto, then have him exit, and then make another post for Kakashi's entry and all of that. However, if you would like to of your characters to meet and interact and whatnot, you may give someone else permission to temporarily play one of your characters for you. This does not apply in battle threads.
Character Rules
1. The maximum number of OCs for normal members is 7 and the maximum number of canon characters (characters actually in Naruto) is 3. For the staff, the maximum number of OCs is 10 and the number for canons is 5. As you will learn in the next rule, these surpass how many characters you're actually allowed to have, but all this means is that, for example, a member can't make all 10 of their characters OCs.
2. Members are allowed 2 S-ranks, 2 A-ranks, 2 B, 2 C, and 2 D. Of course you can switch a higher rank for a lower one if you want to.
Staff are allowed 3 S-ranks, 3 A, 3 B, 3 C, and 3 D.
3. Only Medic-nin are allowed to have certain jutsu, such as healing jutsu or Shousen. But, Medic-nin are only allowed those special jutsu and jutsu of 1-2 element(s). No other skills (besides the basic jutsu that all shinobi know).
4. You are allowed to create an Uchiha clan member, BUT there are only three available spots and it's on a first come-first serve basis. Also, remember that this plot is only 5 years after the defeat of Akatsuki, so Sasuke is still only 21, meaning he most likely doesn't have any kids yet, so don't try to go that route. This means that you must have a very very well done history that explains why your Uchiha wasn't in the massacre. Though, all Uchihas must be from Konohagakure, even if they have somehow left. Because this is a different matter than others, Uchiha applications will be looked upon more strictly than regular character apps. Also, only staff members are allowed to start with the Sharingan. If you want the Sharingan, you must go through a serious life-or-death battle IC after having your character approved for a minimum of 3 weeks and be deemed worthy by an Admin. As for Mangekyou Sharingan, that is only available after already having the Sharingan, killing your character's best friend IC (you must make this friend IC as well), getting the circumstances deemed alright by 2 Admins, and defeating 2 Admins in battle (separately). If you want some sort of variant, PM KageLord.
Haku's clan, the Taira (Plain; field) clan is also available for having characters made after. Much like the Uchiha or Kaguya clan though, this clan only has a limited amount of space and you must have a good enough reason why your clan member isn't dead, given that at the time and possibly still now, Kekkei Genkai clans were being wiped out. The Senju clan has one open spot, and that spot is reserved for Tsunade's child. If you wish to take this spot, you must either have Tsunade already reserved, applied for and accepted as one of your characters or have permission by the one who has made Tsunade's character to make the son/daughter of Tsunade. Remember that the time skip is only 5 years, so your Senju character can only be a maximum of five years old.
The Kaguya clan is also available, but you have to give reasons why they weren't with the clan when they got slaughtered [Note: The Kaguya clan loves to fight and the clan's last fight was going to be a huge fight. None of the clan members would want to miss it. So you have to give a VERY good reason why your character's ancestor wasn't there]. The applications for both of these two clans will be watched even more closely than a normal app. Your application and RP ability must be at a certain level for you to use a custom from these two clans.
As for the Hyuuga clan and all of the other clans of the world of Naruto that are still alive, characters for each clan can be created. But if you're going to be from one of those clans, you have to be good at RPing to live up to the clan's name.
Also, no hybrids are allowed. This means no half-Uchiha and half-Hyuuga or something like that.
5. No Sages or Rinnegan.
6. One person cannot have 2 of the same special type of character. This refers to Kages/Daimyos, Uchiha/Kaguya, or Mikaboshi.

Jutsu Rules
1. All jutsu must have the English name with them if they're written in Japanese.
2. All jutsu must have a type [Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, or Genjutsu or any other jutsu] and form of offensive and defensive [Attack, Defense, or Supplymentary].
3. When creating a jutsu you must keep them in your rank. If someone creates a jutsu that's ranked above their rank, the jutsu will be rejected.
4. No knock-offs. This means you can't just make a jutsu that involves a spinning orb of Fire chakra in one's hand and think it is different than Rasengan. It would actually be more like a variation of Rasengan.
5. You must have a range for all of the jutsu you create.
6. You must write the origin of the jutsu, because this jutsu didn't just come out of nowhere. Someone had to create it.
7. When doing the RP example, you must use the character that you created performing the jutsu and showing how it's done.
Battle Rules
1. NO GODMODDING! The staff will judge if something is godmodding or not, but if you feel that there is something we missed, just ask us to check it.
2. You only have a certain amount of chakra. This goes hand in hand with godmodding. Don't try to use jutsu multiple times without getting tired. If you see this happening and someone has gone over 100% of their chakra, tell the staff and they will make a ruling.
3. You can't dodge everything. Again, this is part of godmodding, but I'll be more specific. If you are attacked with something, say the Phoenix Flower jutsu, you can't just jump to the right and say you dodged the whole thing. This often becomes the case in taijutsu battles. Unless you are an expert in taijutsu, like Gai, chances are you will be hit a few times.
4. You may only use the Replacement/Substitution/Change of Body Stance jutsu 2 times in one battle. Additional techniques with the same sort of effect may only give you 1 extra use. Also, you must state that you made the hand signs. Even if they don't always do it in the anime, specify that you made at least 4 hand signs. In addition to those rules, there are more to prevent godmodding. You may only switch with an object (not a person or clone) that is not moving. That object can be something of your opponent's but only if it is lying on the ground somewhere. You cannot replace with something on your opponent's belt or something they are holding. Furthermore, the object you are replacing with has to have a chance of actually being nearby. Replacing with a log if you are in a forest surrounded by trees is fine, but replacing with a log if you are in a completely open field or a desert is not very reasonable. You can't magically have a log be behind your opponent so you can switch with it.
5. In your posts, do not write that you hit someone. Write that you are aiming to hit them in a certain spot or trying to do something, but don't write like you've already done it. Examples:
WRONG WAY:
KageLord appeared behind Anon after using the Replacement jutsu and stabbed him in the back of the head with a kunai.
RIGHT WAY:
KageLord quickly made the familiar hand signs and activated the Replacement jutsu, switching his own body with that of a nearby log, which was located conveniently enough directly behind Anon, just before an attack hit where he was standing moments ago. Then, he drew a kunai from his pouch and leaped forward, toward Anon, attempting to stab him in the back of the head.
6. In a fight, there can only be up to 4 people. If any more than 4 people fight in one thread, it just gets messy. So don't do it under any circumstances unless Admins specifically tell you that it's okay.
7. You may use the Shunshin/Body Flicker jutsu, but don't go overboard. If the staff think you are abusing it, we will judge as such and you will be warned. Try it again and you will automatically lose your fight and your fate will be up to your opponent. Also, make the hand sign. All characters must make at least 1 hand sign for Shunshin. The only exception to this rule are canons that have been canonly shown to be able to Shunshin without hand signs (such as Sasuke).
8. If a jutsu or weapon or summon or anything like that is approved during a fight, you may not use it in that fight. You may use it in your next fight, but not one that had already started before it was accepted.
9. If you are asked OOC about something to do with your character or his jutsu or something like that, you must answer in a timely manner.
10. If you do not post your move in 5 days and you did not previously tell the staff (preferably an Admin) that you would be gone, your character is at the mercy of your opponent.
Note: The time may differ depending on the people in the thread. If the creator of the thread and the first other person to join it agree on a shorter time (like 3 days or 1 day), then they may change it for that thread. Also, just to clarify, a day would be 24 hours from the time that the other person made their move. That way there is no confusion as far as time zones are concerned.
